The Walk of Life is being created as a bright and uplifting pathway which will surround the new hospice on three sides, and will be in constant use by all those who visit Demelza. Who can buy?The Demelza Walk of Life project is open to all. We welcome support for the project be it local or from around the world. Back to topWhat can I buy?
You can choose from a range of superb, finest quality stones.
A Demelza Paver is available with up to 2 lines of text in black lettering, each line can have up to 15 characters (spaces & punctuation count as characters) 210mm x 105mm
Are the letters painted on top?No, the letters are actually engraved and hand-painted. The paint sits just below the surface so that it is not subject to wear. Back to topWhat can I have engraved?
As the Walk of Life is to be a positive and happy area where children staying in the new hospice will spend time, messages need to be bright and uplifting. Dates and ‘in memory’ messages will not be accepted, however 'names' are warmly welcomed. Demelza Children’s Hospice Limited reserves the right to refuse any messages which they consider to be unsuitable for the area. 15 characters per line(spaces and punctuation count as charcaters).
Can I change my message after I have placed my order?You will be sent a letter with a Certificate to check your inscription. If it is incorrect there will be a return address and you will be reissued with another Certificate. Please notify us within 10 days of receipt of your certificate. Please note that only one set of corrections is allowed. Back to topHow long will they last?The engraving depth can be expected to last for a minimum of 10 years. The site owners reserve the right to manage pavers and stones, as detailed in the Terms & Conditions, and are responsible for all maintenance. Back to topWhen are they being laid?.The first section of stones is expected to be laid in Spring 2008. Due to the nature of “new build”, delays may occur which are beyond our control and Demelza cannot be held responsible for any such delay Back to topHow much do they cost?Demelza Children’s Hospice Limited is grateful for donations of any amount, but people making donations of £50 or more can have one item for each multiple of £50 given. Refunds policy Please note that refunds from our Walk of Life campaign will be at the discretion of the management. Please see our terms and conditions for further information. or AMERICAN EXPRESS Can I choose my location?No, the stones will be laid on a first come first laid basis as the project progresses. Each item will be laid in the next available spot. Back to topCan I buy as a gift?Yes, you can buy for someone else. The letter confirming your purchase and the certificate will come to you - the purchaser, to check the inscription we have is correct before we do the engraving. You can then give the certificate showing the inscription as a gift. The certificate does not contain the purchaser's name. Back to topWhat is on the certificate?The certificate includes the inscription and a unique reference number. In due course you will use this number to help locate your inscription.
